Suggestion 4 HTSA Evening Meeting 13th November 6:00p.m

We appreciate that many parents want to get involved with the HTSA but cannot attend morning meetings due to work commitments. We therefore propose to run and support working-groups for a variety of events, and these groups could meet in the evening instead of the morning.

To get the ball rolling on The Night Shift we'd like to extend an invitation to parents and carers to join the first HTSA Evening Meeting on the 13th November – a social brain-storming evening that coincides with the movie night.

Time 6pm, venue the club room. Free glass of wine/bottle of beer + snacks.

We've come up with FOUR suggestions to get us started – these are only SUGGESTIONS, mind, you may have your own ideas as to how to raise funds in 2015/16.

SUGGESTION 4/4

GO SOLO

Maybe you hate meetings? Maybe it's just rotten luck that the meetings are stage at a time when you can't make them. Maybe you just don't like the look of the committee.

So… GO IT ALONE. Grow a moustache, stop drinking, cycle, run, walk and get sponsors.

You don't have to wait for permission to fundraise for YOUR HTSA.

If your solo fundraising needs support – posters, sponsor forms, announcements, reasonable expenses – get in touch with the committee – Adam, Marina, Gemma, Wiebke & Hannah.

SUGGESTION 2/4

Have a NIGHTSHIFT meeting to brainstorm corporate sponsors.

One of the BIG ideas last year was to get corporate sponsorship. It was often suggested by dads.

So… get together with a couple of friends – at the pub, at someone's house, in Cherry Tree Woods, at the school, anywhere – and brainstorm corporate sponsors. Follow up in your own time by approaching as many as you have the time to approach.

Corporate sponsors will get their logo on all our correspondence and social media communications.

EXTRA: If anyone brings in £500 worth of corporate sponsorship then they will be entered into a prize draw at the end of the year to win £100 to be spent on uniform items at Braggs.

SUGGESTION 1/4

HAVE A NIGHTSHIFT MEETING TO PLAN ONE OF OUR EXISTING EVENTS

The HTSA organised three successful nighttime events last year. Can you put together an evening committee with some friends to organise one of the following:

Auction Night

Quiz Night

Wine Tasting Night

Tickets & posters can be printed in the usual way and all reasonable expenses (based on last year's expenses) will be covered.

HTSA Evening Meeting on the 13th November

HTSA EVENING MEETING & FILM NIGHT 13th November

We appreciate that many parents want to get involved with the HTSA but cannot attend morning meetings due to work commitments. We therefore propose to run and support working-groups for a variety of events, and these groups could meet in the evening instead of the morning.

We will kick off with a social brain-storming evening that coincides with the movie night on November 13th. (Time and film TBA).

In the meantime, we are looking for a sponsor for the film night. Can you provide workplaces or organisations that can sponsor the event? We're looking for £150 of sponsorship. Don't forget that we are a registered charity. Grab a member of the committee or email us on n2htsa@gmail.com.

Evening Meetings For the HTSA

Evening Meetings for the HTSA

Following our survey last week, there seems to be a sufficient number of parents/carers willing to turn out for HTSA evening meetings to make the evening meetings viable.

Here's the proposal…

We turn the planning and the organising of all EVENING EVENTS over to the EVENING MEETINGS while keeping daytime meetings in place to plan the big events of the calendar.

DAYTIME MEETINGS

Daytime meetings to be dedicated to the AGM and the planning, organising and prep for the big events – the Christmas fair and the spring fair – as per 2014/15.

THE NEW EVENING MEETINGS

Evening meetings to be dedicated to the planning and organising of evening events.

To spread the workload we suggest that each separate evening event be lead by a specific year group (or combination of year groups), e.g. Y4 lead the Wine Tasting night, Y6 lead the Quiz Night, etc.

The meeting would therefore be set at the convenience of the members of each year group and at the venue of their choice.

The dates of the events will be set according to the space allowed by the school calendar.

Each evening meeting would be free to decide on the nature or theme of the events – new ideas welcome.

The usual reasonable expenses and resources would be available to each group if required – poster design, ticketing & printing, for example. Clerking services, however would have to be arranged on a meeting-by-meeting basis depending on availability.
