Thanks & Happy Christmas!

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped out with fundraising, selling, making, clearing-up, organising and volunteering in the first term of 2015/16.

When we come back in January we will have news of the excellent gingerbread sale and the total from the excess Xmas pudding sales.

It's been a LONG term… have a FANTASTIC Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

A Letter From Mrs Kimani

Dear Parents/Carers,

Your fundraising efforts at the Christmas Fair 2015 were impressive indeed. £3,923 raised by such a small parent community is cause for celebration!

Thanks to ALL parents who contributed as organisers, cooks, stall-holders and customers! I know that the HTSA committee will echo my particular thanks to the familiar faces that I see helping at every HTSA event. You do amazing work.

It is always great to see new faces helping out at HTSA events and this year was no exception. Welcome and thanks to all first-time volunteers.

Looking forward to the Summer Fair! Good luck with all your preparations

Mrs Kimani

Ask Me What I Did Post 20:11:15

The Ask Me What I Did Post is the HTSA's version of the school's Ask Me What I Did Postcards that get sent home to mark our children's achievements.

Thanks this week to Y6 parents Alex (Will's mum) & Linda (Freya's mum) who have volunteered to stage their very own wrapping session on Tuesday for the tombola at the Xmas Fair.

It's a HUGE job, fiddly and time consuming and when it's done, we'll have more time for our wrapping and prep session next Friday 27th in the Club Room (everyone welcome).

Thanks Linda & Alex!

If you have seen someone doing great work on behalf our children and feel they should be thanked, get in touch with us. Grass someone up for good behaviour!

Can you provide sponsorship for the HTSA? Get in touch please.

Film Night – Thanks Everyone!

With some ticket sales yet to be returned, we're already at a profit figure of over £350 for last week's Film Night. Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen!

Well done EVERYONE!

Y4 Cake Sale Raised £194.50!

Thanks to all who bought & baked.

HAVE A GREAT HALF TERM!

Next HTSA Meeting Friday 6th November 9:00a.m – Everybody Welcome

The next HTSA Meeting Friday 6th November 9:00a.m in the club room.

On the agenda: The Christmas Fair.

Four Things For Half Term

1. For better of for worse there will be a LOT of sweeties flying about the place this Halloween. If you can, do remember to keep a few aside to fill decorated jars for the Jarbola at this year's Xmas Fair. The jarbola made a LOAD of money at last year's Xmas Fair. Here are last year's instructions.

2. Keep scratching your heads for new sponsorship deals for the HTSA. It came up time and again in parents' suggestions last year, let's see if we can bring those ideas to fruition this year.

3. Buy a ticket for the Film Night from your class rep!

4. Have a fantastic Half Term break and we'll see you in November!

The Ask Me What I Did Post is the HTSA's version of the school's Ask Me What I Did Postcards that get sent home to mark our children's achievements.

Thanks this week go to Chen, Eddie's mum in Y4.

Chen is way ahead of the game this year and she's organised the excellent Christmas Puddings that will be on sale at the Christmas Fair on the 28th November.

Did you know that the company that provides us with our puds also supplies Fortnum & Mason? There's posh!

Thanks Chen!

Suggestion 4 HTSA Evening Meeting 13th November 6:00p.m

We appreciate that many parents want to get involved with the HTSA but cannot attend morning meetings due to work commitments. We therefore propose to run and support working-groups for a variety of events, and these groups could meet in the evening instead of the morning.

To get the ball rolling on The Night Shift we'd like to extend an invitation to parents and carers to join the first HTSA Evening Meeting on the 13th November – a social brain-storming evening that coincides with the movie night.

Time 6pm, venue the club room. Free glass of wine/bottle of beer + snacks.

We've come up with FOUR suggestions to get us started – these are only SUGGESTIONS, mind, you may have your own ideas as to how to raise funds in 2015/16.

SUGGESTION 4/4

GO SOLO

Maybe you hate meetings? Maybe it's just rotten luck that the meetings are stage at a time when you can't make them. Maybe you just don't like the look of the committee.

So… GO IT ALONE. Grow a moustache, stop drinking, cycle, run, walk and get sponsors.

You don't have to wait for permission to fundraise for YOUR HTSA.

If your solo fundraising needs support – posters, sponsor forms, announcements, reasonable expenses – get in touch with the committee – Adam, Marina, Gemma, Wiebke & Hannah.

SUGGESTION 3/4

NEW IDEAS

You've got a great idea – GO FOR IT with a Night Shift meeting.

Some of your own suggestions from last year included…

CAMPING ON THE SCHOOL FIELD

TABLE TENNIS NIGHT

CINEMA NIGHT

STAND UP COMEDY NIGHT

RACE NIGHT

TREASURE HUNT

PARENT FUN RUN

BARN DANCE

BURNS NIGHT

BEAUTY NIGHT/SPA DAY

HTSA COOKBOOK

Tickets & posters can be printed in the usual way and all reasonable expenses (based on last year's expenses) will be covered. And as was stated at the AGM, those parents who can muck in will do so where they can to support the event.

SUGGESTION 2/4

Have a NIGHTSHIFT meeting to brainstorm corporate sponsors.

One of the BIG ideas last year was to get corporate sponsorship. It was often suggested by dads.

So… get together with a couple of friends – at the pub, at someone's house, in Cherry Tree Woods, at the school, anywhere – and brainstorm corporate sponsors. Follow up in your own time by approaching as many as you have the time to approach.

Corporate sponsors will get their logo on all our correspondence and social media communications.

EXTRA: If anyone brings in £500 worth of corporate sponsorship then they will be entered into a prize draw at the end of the year to win £100 to be spent on uniform items at Braggs.

Book A Disco For Your Child's Party – And Raise Money For The School

The people at Kids Fun Disco have been in touch with a special offer for HTS parents that could help raise funds for our school.

Kids Fun Disco is willing to donate £25 to the HTSA every time a Holy Trinity parent books their services for a party.

They offer disco, dance lessons, face-painting and games.

If they receive 10 bookings from Holy Trinity parents, they will also offer a free disco for the school.
