Your Half Term Homework!

Half Term Homework!

That's right, we'd like to set you all some homework to complete over the half term holiday.

This is a fun 'whole school'  project that you can complete with the help of your child. You can be as creative as you like.

1. Please find an old jam jar or a takeaway drinks cup with a lid.

2. Fill it with sweets and/or other party bag favours (pencils, rubbers etc. With Halloween in the holidays we thought there might be a few extra sweets around the house that you might like to re-home!)

3. Wrap your jar or cup. (This is so we can't see what's in the jar )

4. Repeat as many times as you like!

5. Please return your filled jars to the school office the first week back after the holidays.

The jars are for the Christmas Fair for the popular Jarbola stall.

Remember the more jars we have the more money we can raise for the school.

The person who brings in the most filled jars could get the HTSA's coveted star of the week award! So get collecting and wrapping!

Big Question: If I Have To Work, How Can I Help Out With The HTSA?

This week's Big Question is:

If I Have To Work, How Can I Help Out With The HTSA?

It's a tough one, trying to balance all aspects of our lives – family time, childcare, work, school.

Many of us are unable to attend HTSA meeting because of work commitments.

But there are still ways in which you can help – by actually being at work!

Can your workplace donate prizes for our raffles?

or

Can your workplace sponsor an event?

Please ask around at your workplaces – the Christmas Fair is coming up (29th November) and we are in need of good raffle prizes. We're even looking for a sponsor for the blog you are reading right now. Get in touch if you can help! You don't have to wait until the meetings – drop us a line by email.

Ask Me What I Did Post 14:10:14

This week's Ask Me What I Did… blog post is dedicated to…

Ginie (Lucy's mum in Year 1).

Ginie has very kindly offered her wonderful photographs for inclusion in this year's Harvest Festival DVD.

She gave up her Friday afternoon last week to happily snap away from the gallery as the kids launched into "Conkers" and other autumnal classics!

Thanks Ginie!

A free highlights version of the Harvest Festival video will be available for download later this week. Keep an eye on this blog and/or our Facebook page for more news.

A DVD version – with extra pictures! – will available for £5, with ALL the money going to the HTSA. It is available to order now – do so by clicking HERE.

DO YOU TAKE PICTURES AT HTS EVENTS? WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE THEM FOR OUR FUNDRAISING DVD'S? IT'S JUST ONE OF THE WAYS THAT YOU CAN HELP OUT. DROP US A LINE!

THE GREAT HOLY TRINITY BAKE OFF

As per our earlier post… This year we have introduced the idea of a regular half term cake sale and thought we'd make it interesting… Why not have a bake off????

Today at the meeting we gave each class rep a date to organize their cake sale. It's up to each class to produce cakes and sweet treats and promote your sale however you wish. You can be as creative as you like, use different themes but there are two rules:

- make sure contributions are nut free.
- the fixed price is 50p per cake/slice

Which ever class raises the most money will receive an additional £50 for their children to have a class room treat at the end of the year.
Year 4 kicked off with our first cake sale of the year and managed to raise a grand total of £129.60! A huge thank you to all year 4 parents for their contributions (and a big thank you to Mr Ritson for his amazing strawberry cheesecake cupcakes!

The bar has been set – Y2 are next to take on the challenge with a cake sale on Friday 24th October. Best of luck.

NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS

We welcome Maria Leppard and Sarah Tyner who have agreed to take over the Bar/license for our events.

Judy Pang will handle the organisation of the catalogue distribution, and Maria and Kat have taken over the Food Stall for our fairs.

DATES FOR THE DIARY

Wine Tasting Evening - Friday 14th November 2014

Christmas Fair - Saturday 29th November 2014

It's All About Cake!

Yesterday we said "it's not all about tea and biscuits" – and today's HTSA meeting proved that to be true!

There's loads to do and it was great to see so many parents at the meeting! Well done ALL!

Full minutes will be circulated soon, but in the meantime let's talk about cake.

This year, each year group will conduct its own cake sale. By the end of summer term, the year group that has raised the most cash will get a prize for their class.

The next Cake Sale date for your diary is…

YEAR 2: Friday 24th October 2014

The benchmark has been set by Year 4 who raised £129 last week.

BAKE OFF!

It's Not Just About Tea & Biscuits!

Don't get us wrong: we like tea and biscuits as much as the next parent.

Which is why they're a part of our HTSA meeting tomorrow (10th October 9:00a.m).

But while we're dunking our digestives we want to hear YOUR input. It's your HTSA and we want your ideas and suggestions.

We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow in the Club Room (that's the old nursery) at 9:00a.m.

The tea and biscuits are taken care of: you bring the ideas.

HTSA MEETING 9:00a.m 10TH OCTOBER 2014.

HTSA AGM NEWS

The HTSA AGM took place on the 30th September 2014…

After 3 years of hard work and dedication Sue Koumourou and Sylvia Larkin have decided to step down as joint Chair of the HTSA. We say a huge thank you to them both for their efforts and achievements during this time and wish them every success going forward.

This means we have some new committee members!

Gemma Winstanley and Marina Tebbutt have stepped up from the role of joint Vice Chair to become the new HTSA joint Chair, and filling the role of Vice Chairman is Adam Scott. Paula Dozie continues in her role as Treasurer, and Sophie Driscoll along with Christine Mere will share the role of Secretary.

We say a huge thank you to all the parents and staff who continue to support and help the HTSA, it truly is a team effort.

We also welcome all parents who are new to Holy Trinity and look forward to helping them settle in by hosting an informal coffee morning on Friday 10th October at 9am. Please come along to meet some new parents and find out what the HTSA is all about.  Refreshments will be followed by our first meeting during which we hope to pencil in some dates for our future events.
